The French-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce welcomes the official visit of Jean-Noël Barrot, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, to Iceland, alongside a MEDEF business delegation reinforced by Ardian France and the Thales group, a further illustration of the growing momentum in French-Icelandic economic relations that the Chamber works to sustain every day.

In two days, the delegation covered the essentials of the Icelandic economic ecosystem: the Verne Global data center, Business Iceland (Íslandsstofa) and the Prime Minister’s office for an update on major investments, a reception at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, then Hellisheiði for the energy and sustainable-solutions projects led by Carbfix, Orkuveita Reykjavíkur and ON Power. The second day brought the delegation together at the Alþingi with members of parliament from across the political spectrum, then with the Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise (SA) and the Federation of Icelandic Industries (SI), before closing at the Blue Lagoon.

This density of meetings (institutions, energy, infrastructure, industry) confirms the level of mutual interest between the two countries, and reinforces the role of platform that the Chamber intends to play for French companies wishing to set up or invest in Iceland.

The French-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce thanks all the companies, institutions and individuals who contributed to the success of this visit.
