Seminar at the Senate in Paris on Green Hydrogen
A very successful Green Hydrogen Symposium was organized by the French-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the French Senate Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group North and the Icelandic Embassy in Paris.
It took place in the premises of the French Senate: the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris, in the presence of the Icelandic President, as well as the ambassadors of the two respective countries.

Johannesson continued to set the tone by asking in his opening speech: “Is hydrogen our energy vector for the future ? Can it be produced in Iceland? Can it then be shipped to users in other countries? And can we do all this in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way? Can we produce energy and protect nature at the same time? Yes we can. And yes, we must.
Mr. Philippe Boucly, President of FRANCE HYDROGEN concluded the opening section with a brief introduction of the overall perspectives of French hydrogen, highlighting the main axes of the French 7.2 billion euro program decided by French President Emmanuel Macron for the development and applications of hydrogen, until 2030.

The two ambassadors (SE Unnur ORRADOTTIR RAMETTE for IS and SE Sophie LASZLO for FR), as well as our president of CCFRIS Baldvin Bjorn HARALDSSON, underlined in their final remarks the need to ensure follow-up of actions from 2022. We can count on our excellent relations and help from MEDEF International to secure the settlement of these next steps, for the benefit of effective IS-FR cooperation in this very promising field of H2 and renewable energies!
